The University of Alberta is located in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on First Nations and Métis Treaty 6 Territory. Edmonton has to the largest green space in an urban city in Canada and the second largest mall in North America (West Edmonton Mall) with over 800 stores. The city is also home to the Edmonton Oilers hockey and Edmonton Elks football teams.

Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunities 

Funding for postdoctoral positions may be available through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), Killam Trust, Alberta Innovates, and Banting Postdoctoral Scholarships.

Graduate Student Opportunities

Graduate students at the Masters and Doctoral level may be funded through teaching or research assistantships, receive external scholarships such as the Alberta Innovates or NSERC, or international funding or scholarships (like the Chinese Scholarship Council) through home countries.

​Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Undergraduates interested in joining the lab should contact the lab to see if there are projects available. Students may be able to enrol in a Biology 298/299/398/399/498/499 course to receive credit for research over a single semester or through two terms. Eligible research courses would contribute to attaining a Research Certificate in Science offered by the University of Alberta.

Students may also be able to be receive funding through the the competitive applications of the Undergraduate Research Initiative stipend, the Tri-Council Undergraduate Student Research Awards, or the Undergraduate Research Support Fund. Students may also be eligible for certain undergraduate scholarships. 

Please review this link for more undergraduate research funding opportunities at the University of Alberta. Generally, students cannot receive both funding and credit within the same semester. 
Additional options may also occur for unfunded volunteer opportunities on a case-by-case basis.
